APPLES

Nothing beats the first crisp bite of an Aussie-grown apple!

We have teamed with some of Australia’s most renowned apple growers to get that first bite feeling, every time.

Royal Gala

The Royal Gala is the first Aussie apple harvested each season. Medium in size, the Royal Gala has kiwi parentage as a cross between a Golden Delicious and Kidd’s Orange varieties.

Tasting note: sweet and dense

Pink Lady

Australia’s favourite apple! The Pink Lady is world renowned and unmistakable for it’s true pink skin and crisp bite.

Tasting note: sweet, tart and crisp

Fuji

The sweetest of the range. Fuji apples have a cult-like following for their super sweet flavour and dense bite. Fuji are easily identified with their all-over reddish blush and yellow/green background.

Granny Smith

Known as ‘the bakers apple’ the Granny Smith is a well know variety that lends itself well to a variety of cooking methods. The Granny Smith apple originated by chance in the in NSW Australia.

Tasting notes: crisp and tart

Red Delicious

The Red Delicious apple is instantly recognised by most, for it’s striking deep red skin and contrasting white flesh.

Tasting note: medium sweet and juicy

AVOCADOS

Loved for their creamy texture and smooth, buttery taste the avocado has gained global popularity due to their high nutritional content specifically their high levels of monounsaturated ‘good’ ’ fat.

Hass

The Hass avocado makes up most of the Australian supply. They are classic oval shape with unique pebbly, textured skin that changes colour as it ripens from green to purple/black.

Tasting note: smooth and creamy

Shepard

Longer and more elongated than the Hass, The Shepard avocado is characterised by its smooth, glossy green skin which remains green even when ripe.

Tasting note: nutty and buttery

BANANAS

Bananas remain Australia’s favourite fruit! And one that’s most a-peeling to the Tenfarms team, as it’s been a huge part of our business since our humble beginnings.

We have teamed with some of Australia’s most renowned banana growers to deliver flavoursome product, year round.

CHERRIES

As a summer staple, Australian cherries are loved for their ruby-red sweetness and firm bite.

Our expert cherry growers produce top-quality cherries packed with antioxidants and phytonutrients.

CITRUS

Renowned for their immunity-boosting properties, Australian lemons, mandarins, grapefruit, limes and oranges are a staple in most households.

As nutrient rich as they are flavoursome, citrus offers year-round vibrancy to the Tenfarms fruit bowl.

Valencia

Named after the Valencia region in Spain, although its actual origins are unknown; the Valencia is the best variety for juicing due to their high juice content. They are thin skinned and generally available outside of the ‘citrus season’.

Navel

The Navel is by far the most popular variety, distinguished by its navel-shaped hole at the base of the fruit. The Navel orange is as vitamin rich as it is flavoursome. With a thicker skin, Navel oranges are best sliced and eaten however they do juice well..

Lemon

Lisbon, Eureka and Seedless varieties means that lemons can be enjoyed year-round. Best known for their detoxification properties, adding natural flavour to your daily routine has never been simpler.

Lime

Small but mighty, limes are fast becoming part of the Australian culture. Cut one up and drop into your beer or cocktail for a refreshing twist.

Pomelo

Affectionately known as the mild grapefruit, the Pomelo is pale green to yellow in colour when ripe, with sweet white flesh. The fruit has a very thick pith/rind visible when cut.

Tasting note: mildly tart yet sweet

Blood Orange

With it’s striking crimson-red flesh and deep red blushed skin, the Blood orange has gained itself a cult-like following.

Tasting note: intense orange flavour with raspberry-like undertones

Dekapon

The Dekapon mandarin is easily identified by its unique bumpy skin and top knob. This variety is relatively new to the market, but gaining momentum due to its super-sweet flavour, easy to peel skin and seedless nature.

Imperial mandarin

An early season variety, the Imperial mandarin is an Aussie favourite due to it’s glossy orange skin finish, easy peel nature and sweet juicy bite.

Afourer mandarin

A late-season variety, the Afourer mandarin is striking in colour with a deep orange-red skin finish and sweet, juicy flavour.

Honey Murcott mandarin

The Honey Murcott is yellow to orange in colour, easy to peel and a characteristically honey-sweet flavour.

Australian grown grapes are natures candy. Super sweet to snack on, grapes are fat free, cholesterol free, low in sodium and low GI meaning they are a sustained energy release and the perfect addition to your lunchbox!

Thompson seedless

Look for a small-medium sized grape, oblong in shape with a yellowish green skin finish. The skin is tight, and firm and flesh is sweet, pulpy and seedless.

Autumn Royal

This red/black grape variety is larger than most with an ovaloid shape and seedless, juicy bite.

Tasting note: crisp and sweet

Red Globe

A popular Australian variety, Red Globe grapes are jumbo in size with a pinkish-red skin and a crisp, delicate flavour.

Tasting note: delicately mild

Crimson Seedless

Like the name suggests this grape is seedless with bright red, thick skin and have a crisp, firm texture. Oval in shape, Crimson Seedless grapes have a mild, neutral flavour.

Ohanez

Golden to green in colour with a thick, tough skin thick, Ohanez has a neutral flavour and juicy bite.

Tasting note: neutral, juicy taste

Calmeria

This green grape variety is easily distinguishable by its pale green thick skin and elongated shape, it has few small seeds and a sweet, tangy taste.

MANGOES

The hallmark of summer! Aussie mangoes have gained a cult-like following, and rightfully so.

The sweet, juicy, tropical bite is unmistakably synonymous with holidays,sunshine and summer festivities.

R2E2

The R2E2 mango is round to oval in shape with orange skin and a red blush. This mango variety has firm flesh and a sweet flavour.

Kensington Pride

A later season variety, the Kiett is unique in appearance with its dark pink/red skin and green blush. The Kiett is sweet in flavour with a juicy mild flavoured flesh.

Keitt

Irwin

Smooth, sweet, and flavoursome, the Irwin mango has a unique apple/mango taste and smooth orange to pink skin which It develops into a dark red blush as the fruit ripens.

PEARS

Pearfection! Pears are the low GI fruit that are exceptionally versatile to include in both sweet and savory dishes.

William (Bartlett)

Medium to large in size, the William Bartlett pear has green to yellow skin and a subtle crisp flavour.

Packham

Yellow to green in colour, Packham pears have and juicy, rich flavour that lends itself well to a variety of cooking methods including baking and poaching.

Corella

Small to medium in size, the Corella has a green base and bright red blush with a firm crisp bite.

Tasting note: flavourful and firm

Beurre Bosc

The best all-rounder, the Beurre Bosc is small to medium in size with a shiny skin finish and juicy flavour.

Josephine

Small to medium in size with a smooth, glossy light green skin and often a pinkish-red blush around the stem. Josephine pears have a crisp, juicy bite.

Nashi

The nashi pear is renowned for its textured white, creamy flesh and extra-juicy bite. They are round in shape with a bronzed skin finish.

STONEFRUIT

The summer staple! Australian peaches, nectarines, plums and apricots are often referred to as “summerfruits”. We are #blessed in Australia with some of the best quality stonefruit in the world.

Our dry climate, cool winter temperatures and controlled irrigation allow our growers to produce consistently sweet, high coloured fruit bursting with flavour.

Plum

With carrying characteristics from variety to variety, plums can be small to medium in size with a red, yellow or black skin and everything in between. Some plum varieties are sweet whilst others offer a tangy, tart bite.

Tasting note: firm and juicy

Nectarine

A variety of peach with a smooth, silky skin and firm extra juicy flesh. Colour can vary from orange to red with either a yellow or white flesh.

Tasting note: extra juicy

Peach

With a fuzzy yellow to red skin finish and either yellow or white flesh, peaches are sweet to eat with flesh that softens as the fruit ripens.

Tasting note: fragrant and sweet

Apricot

With their all-over orange colour and soft red blush, the apricot is smaller than other stone fruit varieties with a sweet, tangy flavour that develops as it ripens.

Pluot

Taking profiles from both its parents – the apricot and the plum, the Plout has a colour ranging from deep red to pale yellow and green, and a flesh colour that is yellow, to white or pink to red and a fragrant flavour.
